The “When We Left Earth” series on Discovery channel is amazing.
Those early days of orbiting then landing on the moon, with the bubble helmets in the sky and the buzz cuts and black ties back home, they show a different kind of man. I have an almost romantic notion towards the images of the astronauts and engineers. Those were real men with big balls taking us out of this world. We need more of it.
Fun note: The average age of the engineers involved with Apollo 11 was 26.
