tumblar.

Notes &

I uninstalled the Tumblr facebook app.

caterpillarcowboy:

If I can’t pick and choose which posts go to Facebook, then the whole concept fails. Why? Because Tumblr is a community, and singular posts that are meaningful within the community (say, as part of a conversation) not only don’t make sense out of context, but have a damaging effect because my Facebook audience feels spammed and alienated and subjected to a worsened signal:noise ratio.

Disclaimer: I am the founder of Postling, where you can pick and choose where you want things published.

I uninstalled it last week. It really is pointless to have tumblr-centric stuff feeding to people who know me from high school.

Disclaimer: I’ve gotten everything but my wordpress blogs now attached to Postling. Those are going up tonight so I can easily link the posts in facebook. If you are like me and do want different spaces online, Postling is a dream tool.
