Starfish on Alki Beach

I think it’s probably going to be unlikely for me to ever get tired of starfish. They’re in that familiar shape and alarmingly bright. As with most sealife it has an alien like ability, regenerating its arms and making it slightly scary since I have no idea how to regrow my arms.

Hermit crab

Of course during low tides the cockle shells, hermit crabs and tiny clams were abundant. Here’s another snapshot of the tide pool life.

Moon Snail

Sunday around 10am was the lowest tide of the season in the Puget Sound. Jason and I got up and headed down to South Alki Beach in West Seattle to play in the tide pools with other curious people and the friendly, helpful Seattle Aquarium beach naturalists.
