I’m following 199 people. I might as well bite the bullet and go one more. Who should be 200?

Tonight has been reserved for ABC Family and sitting on the couch missing my dad. Trying to resolve how I should be living and balancing everything without feeling like a horrible daughter gets stressful at times. How can I be planning a 12 day trip to Japan when I’ve only visited him for 4 hours this year?

YouTube - 14525 156th Ave SE, Renton WA →
The only thing cuter than a realtor making a video of a house set to a James Taylor song, is letting the video play black for 50 seconds at the end so the song can finish long after all the footage has. Also House, why do you have to be so far South? I would love to take you and fence you and cover you in my things but I’ll be damned if I have to commute that far.

Stuck in traffic on I-5 north in Olympia, WA. I have a feeling it might be another 2 hours before I make it home to Seattle. I did get to see some pretty sweet volcanoes today though.

Oregon tribe approves same-sex marriages →
At the request of a lesbian couple, the Coquille Indian Tribe on the southern Oregon coast has adopted a law recognizing same-sex marriage. Tribal law specialists say this appears to be the first time a tribe has actively sanctioned such marriages. Most tribal law ignores the issue. The Navajo and Cherokee tribes prohibit same-sex marriages.

The Diane von Furstenberg American Express commercial makes me want to jump off the couch and turn into a wandering wonder woman everytime I see it I want to give her a hug. “I didn’t really know what I wanted to do, but I knew the woman I wanted to become.” It sums up all my recent quiet introspection nicely.

I wish more of the teachers I email on Teach Street got back with me. The only one out of 6 that ever responded waited 3 weeks. Everytime I go there I find something new I want to learn. My current list of wanted classes: Horseback riding MIG welding Calligraphy Stone jewelry making Glassblowing Sewing Swimming (eh. I know I need to!) Archery Fencing And god, urban beekeeping sounds...

indigen: American Indian culture inspires Germans who form clubs to dress up in Indian regalia and camp out in tepees. I grew up in the town of Tahlequah, OK. One of its remarkable aspects was being the capital of the Cherokee Nation (die hauptstadt der Cherokee Nation), which drew dozens of German tour groups every year. I don’t recall one ever from another country, always just Germany.

marco: I think it’s partly a geek thing: I don’t need or seek the validation of others to be satisfied with my own work. I do it for myself and the sake of anyone who might benefit. I love doing little things that almost nobody will notice, such as making checkbox labels clickable or shortening my Amazon URLs, because they satisfy me. In part, I think this contributes to (or is a result of) my...

My worst fear is alive
My first website, that was on tripod, is now available through the wayback machine. I’ve been able to find a link to it from Sept 1998 for quite awhile now (proving that I’ve had some sort of blog for around 10 years now, although I’m much more proud of 10 years of irc logs) but never has my site been an active archive. I’m going through and grabbing the good embarrassing...

Our Presidential Candidates Favorite Songs →
asprettyasasong: This explains soooo much! You can always tell a lot about a person based on their taste in music. Obama’s favorite song has the line “if I could rule the world everyone would have a gun in the ghetto” and Lauryn Hill has a line about “defacating on the microphone” Not saying Ready or Not is a bad song. I just thought it was funny.
