karion: Short backstory: Seattle lost its NBA team because our local leadership sucks ass and Howard Shultz burned us worse than his coffee . Sherman Alexie was called as a witness for the City (who was trying to hold the lame duck team to the last two years of their lease) and, at some point in his testimony, lamented that new ownership wasn’t serving cucumber sandwiches. It was pretty much the...

Shopping for a house in the Seattle area is just depressing when you come from the Midwest. Also, 3 car garages only exist on the Eastside. Go ahead Seattle. Act smug.  I know you’re cool with street parking because you only have bicycles or one Outback that fits the whole family, but some of us need space.

Mr. Snow died early this morning, just hours after the Army awarded him an honorable discharge and apologized for the “grievous wrong,” done to him and 23 other black soldiers 64 years ago. “That honorable discharge meant more to him than his own health,” said his son, Ray Snow. The elder Snow and his fellow soldiers were court-martialed and sentenced to a combined 200...

Asperger Test →
mad-thoughts: I scored a 16, I’m slightly above the average woman. I scored 40 :( “Scores over 32 are generally taken to indicate Asperger’s Syndrome or high-functioning autism, with more than 34 an “extreme” score.” Fuck. Don’t look at me!

Anyone familiar with using EasyTask Manager? I need to get my shit in order and want to know if it (or the more expensive OmniFocus) is worth using. I don’t mind paying for good software, but the $20 mac app and free iphone app make EasyTask Manager more attractive than the $100 combined price of OmniFocus. Reblog, email or comment please!

marco: lfarm: You know how no one really eats the crusts of a loaf of bread? I sure don’t. And just today, 3 days before my 26th birthday, I’ve realized that instead of lifting up the crust piece to get to proper slices everytime I go to eat bread, I could simply just throw away the crust when I open a new loaf. Never considered than an option before. Changes everything. I never throw away the...

Startup Ideas We'd Like to Fund →
joelaz: A list of some ideas for startups from Paul Graham and his Y Combinator early-stage VC fund. There’s an idea on there that I’ve always wanted someone to do, and have suggested to many people. If I had the technical know how I would have started on this 4 years ago.

A note about my new glasses. It seems a little fisheye like. I felt like the sidewalk beneath me was actually waist high. Every corner I stepped off of was farther down that I expected and every step up I stepped way too high. I hope I settle into them, because I was fairly scared that I was going to fall in front of a crowd at a busy bus stop for a third time this year.

All Things Robot
jakehurwitz: I’ve been talking about updating my robot website, roboboring, for a really long time. And now, it’s finally happening. Kind of. Thanks to the efforts of Amir Cohen, Caldwell Tanner and myself (but mostly them) we’re launching our newest robot site, Totally Robot. It’s a lot like roboboring in that I’ll continue to draw comics. But it’s also really different. Totally Robot is going...
