Raw.
Tonight was my first time to try sashimi. We all ordered the 3 piece happy hour salmon sashimi and when I finally got the courage up to put a piece in my mouth one of the girls had to say “Tastes like bodyfat.”  :(

Dreaming in Code →
Why is software so hard? Hard to make well. Hard to deliver on time. Hard to use. Our civilization runs on software. Yet the art of creating it continues to be a dark mystery, even to the experts, and the greater our ambitions, the more spectacularly we seem to fail. Dreaming in Code: Two Dozen Programmers, Three Years, 4,732 Bugs, and One Quest for Transcendent Software sets out to understand...

marco: Rod Knowlton had a baby today (congratulations!), and started her tumblelog accordingly. This is what Tumblr is for! If she gets listed as a Tumblette before I do I’m gonna be pissed.

I feel like a complete doucherocket watching One Tree Hill each week. I feel a little bit better about it now, since they’re supposed to be my age, but it still feels like a high school soap opera. I also like to think it’s my only guilty pleasure. I actually kept my boyfriend from Halo because of it tonight. Now I feel like a bad girlfriend too.

The Best Sandwiches in America - Esquire →
glueslabs: No place in Seattle could care less whether you come in than Paseo. The shoe-box shack has no sign, takes no credit. Has so few seats that devotees eat outside on the trunks of their cars. What keeps them returning? The milagro that is the Cuban meat sandwich: marinated, slow-cooked pork ganged into a baguette slathered with garlicky mayonnaise, then mounded again with cilantro,...

The teaser for the new Kanye West video for “Flashing Lights” features the curviest girl in the world in her underwear and still manages to disturb the hell out of me.

Robert 'Dogfish' Rudine's art has become a country... →
“Rudine didn’t plan to become head of a country when he started to make stamps in the 1980s. First he was a mail artist. Envelopes and postcards were his instruments. Then he began to design the stamps to go with them. After that, it was (in his mind) a short step to creating a country to give his one-man postal system an authoritative ring.”  My mom was in town this past...

The way to not start a Tuesday is with an email from your bank saying you have 4 overdrafts at $35 each that appear to be caused by a $500 check written to cash that you didn’t write.

Clarke's three laws - Wikipedia, the free... →
Arthur C. Clarke formulated the following three “laws” of prediction: When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong. The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible. Any sufficiently...

Hmm..
jennyalison: After reading verbadjectivenoun’s reblog I decided to Wikipedia my favorite chinese treat.  Crab rangoon is an essential appetizer in American Chinese cuisine of North America. Like the fortune cookie and other American Chinese dishes, it is sometimes believed to be an authentic Chinese dish when in fact it was developed in the United States. Though the history of crab rangoon is...
